TWIN WIRE ARC SPRAY THERMAL COATING PROCESS

The basic Arc Spray process illustrated below shows the two wires being fed into the gun. One is negatively charged and the other positively charged. When the two wires make contact, they are instantly melted, broken down into minute particles and forced by air pressure at the substrate surface. They impact at about 1200 feet per second.

ADVANTAGES

Cost Effective – Using compressed air and electricity makes it one of the most   economical spray processes.

Large Build Ups – High volume application and low heat makes it easy to rebuild a large wear area, which also results in a fast turn around time.

Low Heat Application – Temperatures on the surface being sprayed can be kept as low as 65C during application. This will ensure no metallurgical damage or distortion to the component being sprayed.
